Hi ,
Here in Oregon we are getting creative with our learning opportunities! We've been homeschooling for over 14 years, so we know that there are many different ways you can learn at home. However, we are certainly missing out on our spring outings as well. For us, spring usually means a gazillion different sports practices, homeschooling in the park, visits with friends, and impromptu nature walks. It definitely doesn't
mean confined to the home during all hours of the day.
So, we are learning a new type of "Quarantine Schooling" right along with you. My kiddos are going stir-crazy too, and finding ways to build new routines is a great way to start getting things back in order. Sometimes is little daily expectations that children look forward to that can help bring a little normalcy to your classroom.
One fun morning activity you can try is starting a daily weather station. Not only is it something you can do from home, but it can be the start of your morning activities. We've put together a fun list of books, activities, inexpensive products, and free weather printables. Here is a peek at how you can use them to create your own daily weather station with your kiddos:

Print this simple Weather Sticker Chart for your young students to keep track of the weather.
| Keep track of the weather every day for a year! This is a great way to see seasonal patterns of weather on a single chart.
| Use this Daily Weather Journal with older students who want to keep track of more weather details like temperature, precipitation, wind direction and speed.
|
If you’re looking for a lasting way to track the weather, print these colorful calendars,
laminate, and use with a dry erase marker to track the daily weather. This weather calendar set is also available in black and white for students to color in. Students get creative to color their own monthly weather tracker. For each month, students color then track the weather daily using
the guided symbol key.
Learning about the weather is a fantastic opportunity for preschoolers! Students can learn all about the different kinds of weather and even to track the daily weather with a weather chart. Our Free weather tracing worksheets are wonderful for building small motor skills as well as teaching children about different types of weather.
