Hi ,
Lacey and I have been working especially hard behind the scenes to bring you a new resource for your first-grade students! Expandnig our reach to higher grade levels is something we have had on our hearts for quite some time. We want to be able to "GROW" with you and your children and to help support you along the way.
Today, we are excited to announce
the new addition of First Grade Mom to our growing suite of online teaching resources. We've already created and posted a small handful of fun games and activities you can use with your students, and of course we hope to add many more freebies and teaching resources over the coming years.
If you have a friend or teacher that would be blessed by FREE first grade resources, would you please help us spread the word by sharing this email, or pinning any of the
freebies you find helpful? This will help us to reach our intended audience much quicker Here is a peek at some of the free resources already available: Vowel teams are two vowels that are found next to eachother in a word. Generally, the rule is that the first vowel gets to say it’s name. Or, when two vowels go a walking, the first one does the talking. Teaching students to recognize common sound and spelling patterns will help them master key reading skills. The free vowel team charts on this page are
perfect for introducing students to common vowel teams. Alternatively, they can be printed as flashcards for quick review. Students race against the clock, or eachother as they dab their way through the alphabet in out fast-paced Crab Dab games. Each grid features the complete lowercase alphabet and uppercase alphabet. Students must first dab through the lowercase letter in the correct order, then the uppercase.
Battle Grid: Roll and Cover Game This is a fun game for children to begin learning about grids. Students roll the dice then cover that grid space with a counter. There is strategy involved as they try to get three in a row.
Spin Add & BUMP! This free printable math game helps students practice their addition skills while having fun! Students spin, then add 10 to their number. They find the answer on the grid and cover it with a counter. The first one to cover 5 in a row wins!
