Hi there!
As parents, we know how important reading is to a child's development and overall academic success. Each of my kids began reading at different times, and luckily, the younger one had the help of her older sibling, which I think helped motivate her so she could be just like her big sister.
When summer rolls around, we love taking advantage of a more laid back schedule to take our reading up a notch. Summer reading has become a huge deal in recent years—and with good reason! When kids continue to read over the summer, they are doing a world of good for themselves. Summer reading can:
- Help avoid the summer slide
- Improve comprehension, vocabulary, writing, and diction
- Instill a love of learning
- Encourage family time when reading together or aloud
To get your kids excited about reading this summer, and help them track all those books, Time4Learning has created this awesome summer reading packet. This free printable includes bookmarks, a calendar,
reading logs, a fun BINGO game, and more. I'm sure you'll love it as much as we do!
